Thanks to the pupils of Shap Endowed CofE Primary School, Cumbria and Dave Corrie of Eden Community Outdoors for all of their help in making this film about how to plant trees.
Planting trees and protecting woodland helps mitigate climate change by reducing the amount of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere. This happens because trees absorb carbon dioxide through the process of photosynthesis, utilising the carbon to form wood. Planting trees also supports biodiversity; creates a renewable, sustainable resource; can help with flood protection and the removal of air pollutants and enhances our environments and the quality of our lives.
